ARAPURU, THE
AMAZONIAN BIRD
WITH A MAGICAL SONG
We drew inspiration from an indigenous legend from the northern region of Brazil, which states that those who hear the song of the Arapuru will be blessed with good luck and have their wish granted.
This legend originates from the rarity of hearing the song of this very special bird, as it only sings for 15 to 20 days a year, during the preparation of its nest.
The Arapuru, also called Uirapuru, is a symbol of good fortune and happiness throughout the Amazon.
Our cocktail recipes are fruits
of creativity of our educational programme
Rob Dorsett, our
Master Distiller
We were taught the magic of distillation by a true master distiller, Rob Dorsett, the man behind recipes of award-winning gins like Martin Miller’s, Botanist and Sipsmith.
He taught us about infusing botanicals in heated neutral-grain spirit, using a copper still for a one-shot method in small batches.
Erik Lorincz, our
Brand Ambassador
Erik Lorincz became fascinated by the Brazilian culture and biodiversity since he came for a visit in early 2013. He participated in our creative process, making sure we produce a gin which highlights our exotic essence in cocktails.
Diageo World Class 2010 winner, Erik came to São Paulo in 2016 to launch Arapuru on the Brazilian market and taught 10 original recipes in an exclusive masterclass to a group of local bartenders.
